Recipe: A Superfood Feast Smoothie with Chia Seeds for Breastfeeding Moms

Today, we're sharing an enriched version of our superfood smoothie, with added chia seeds for a boost of Omega-3s and a thicker, creamier texture. This superfood smoothie is a nutritional powerhouse, designed to aid your postpartum recovery and support your baby's growth. Packed with spinach, strawberries, dark chocolate, green tea powder, and chia seeds, it's a feast of flavors and nutrients.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of spinach, thoroughly washed

  • 1 cup of strawberries, hulled and halved

  • 1/4 cup of dark chocolate chips

  • 1 teaspoon of green tea powder (Matcha)

  • 2 tablespoons of chia seeds

  • 1 cup of your preferred milk (almond, oat, or dairy)

  • A handful of ice cubes

  • Optional: 1 scoop of collagen powder

  • Optional: sweetener of your choice (like honey or agave nectar)

Preparation:

  1. Begin by adding the milk and chia seeds to your blender. Allow it to rest for about 5-10 minutes, so that the chia seeds can absorb some liquid and swell up.

  2. After the chia seeds have swollen, add the spinach, strawberries, dark chocolate chips, collagen and matcha green tea powder.

  3. Blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Depending on the power of your blender, this may take anywhere from 30 seconds to 2 minutes.

  4. Taste the smoothie. If you would like it a bit sweeter, add a sweetener of your choice and blend for another 20 seconds.

  5. Add the ice cubes and blend again until the smoothie is chilled and frothy.

  6. Pour into a glass and enjoy this nutritious superfood feast!

This smoothie is not only delicious and refreshing, it's also a great way to incorporate superfoods that support your postpartum recovery and boost your energy levels. Remember, your wellness is paramount to your baby's health and happiness. So, here's to your strength, resilience, and the beautiful journey of motherhood!
